What is a Manmade Simulated Opal? The slow growth of Man-made simulated Opal results in a similar structure and material balance as natural precious opals, but with increased durability and structural stability.

Simulated opals do not contain water like natural opals do--making them less vulnerable to changes in temperature, humidity and heat. Gemologists and industry experts agree, since no simulated man-made opal contains water, none of this material can legitimately be called "synthetic." Instead, the industry advocates calling all manufactured opal materials "man-made simulated."

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Avoid exposing the man-made simulated opal ring to chemicals, including jewellery cleaning fluid. Chemicals can damage or discolour synthetic opal. Instead, use water mixed with vinegar or gentle soap. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to lightly scrub or buff the ring and synthetic opal gemstone. Carefully rinse with water. Use a soft cloth, such as silk or cotton, to dry the man-made opal ring after cleaning. Or leave your synthetic opal ring out to air dry.
