These Japanese Koi Fish earrings are lightweight anodized aluminum which I designed to stand out and to be a conversation starter.
The front of the fish is anodized from a deep red colour in the middle then fades to a fuchsia-pink colour. The edges are polished silver and the back is a solid fuchsia-pink.
Anodizing is a process of passing a direct current through an electrolytic solution with the aluminum object serving as the anode causing a colouration to occur by changing the voltage. Anodizing is one of the more environmentally friendly metal finishing processes due to the limited by-products produced.
The colouration won't come off with regular wear and tear, by it can be scratched. No cleaning is required on the aluminum but the ear wires which are sterling silver will tarnish and that can easily be removed with a polishing cloth.
They both measure approximately 2 and a half inches.
There are only two pairs available.
