This Large Silver Reversible Moss Agate Pendant features a large rounded teardrop-shaped Agate stone cabochon. The Agates colouring is white, grey and green in a swirling pattern. I have set it into a decorative fine silver bezel.
The reverse side has a paisley pattern etched on to the surface.
From the top of the bail the bottom, this pendant measures a little more than 6.5cm or around 2 - 5/8ths of an inch tall.
My process to create this pendant started by sawing out the main shape from a solid sheet of sterling silver. Next, I hand filed and sanded all the edges. I prepared the piece for etching by polishing and then cleaning the surface. I used a rubber stamp and ink to create a texture to etch. After spending some time in the etching solution to corrode part of the silver, I neutralized the acid to stop the process and then cleaned with a brass brush. I repeated this process on the other side. Then I made a fine silver bezel for my stone and soldered it on the blank side. For the bail, I cut, sanded, bent to form the shape and then soldered it to attach to the pendant. After setting the stone, I sanded and polished all the edges. The piece will be finished with the length of a silver chain of your choice.
This piece will arrive on a necklace card within a box to prevent tarnishing and for safekeeping.
